Employer Sponsored:

Temporary Business Long Stay – Standard Business Sponsorship (subclass 457) – for 3 months to 4 years
This visa is for employers to sponsor approved skilled workers to work in Australia on a temporary visa.
Independent Professional:
General Skilled Migration is for people who are not sponsored by an employer and who have skills in particular occupations required in Australia. Applicants must be over 18 and under 45 with good English language ability and recent skilled work experience or a recently eligible Australian qualification.-
Skilled – Independent (Migrant) visa (subclass 175)
This is a permanent visa for people with skills in demand in the Australian labour market. Applicants are not sponsored and must pass a points test.

Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) visa (subclass 176)
A permanent visa for people unable to meet the skilled – Independent pass mark. Applicants must be either sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia or a nominated by a participating State or Territory government. Applicants must pass a points test lower than that for the Skilled – Independent visa.

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) visa (subclass 475)
A 3 year provisional visa for people who can meet the lower pass mark for this visa. Applicants must be either sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated are of Australia or nominated by a participating stat/territory government. After living for 2 years and working for at least 1 year in a Specified Regional Area, applicants can apply for a permanent visa.

Skilled – Recognised Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 476)
An 18 month temporary visa for graduates of recognised overseas educational institutions who have skills in demand in Australia. There is no points test for this visa.

Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 121/856)
Lawfully operating Australian employers can recruit workers on permanent visas to fill full-time highly skilled positions which cannot be filled from the Australian Labour market.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (subclass 119/857)
For employers in regional Australia to employ skilled people in positions unable to be filled fro the local labour market

Labour Agreements
Are formal arrangements to recruit a number of overseas skilled workers. Both temporary and permanent visas can be granted under the agreement. Agreements are generally effective for 2 to 3 years.
Usually employers or industries will have an agreement to accessing labour through visa’s such as:
- Temporary Business (Long Stay) Subclass 457; and
- Permanent entry Labour Agreement visa (subclass 120 and 855) programs.

Business Visits:
Options for business people who need to visit Australia for business purposes or short stay business activities such as conferences, business meetings, can apply for:

If you are a business person wanting to establish a business in Australia or manage a new or existing business there are temporary visa’s available that also offer a pathway to a permanent visa:

Business Owner (Provisional)(subclass 160)
For people who have a successful business career and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved as a business owner in a new or existing business in Australia.

State/Territory Sponsored Business owner (Provisional) (subclass 163)
For people sponsored by a state or territory of Australia. Applicants must have a successful business career and a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved as an owner in a new or existing business in Australia.
Senior Executives:

Senior Executives (Provisional)(subclass 161)
For senior executive employees of a major overseas business who have significant net assets and a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in the management of a new or existing business in Australia.

State/Territory sponsored senior executive (Provisional) (subclass 164)
Other
For senior executive employees of a major overseas business, sponsored by a state or territory of Australia who have significant net assets and a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in the management of a new or existing business in Australia.
If you are intending to commence a business investment activity in Australia you will need to look at being sponsored by a State or Territory government. Agencies in different states or territories have different requirements.

Investor

For people who have a successful business or investment career and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia.

State/Territory Sponsored investor (Provisional) (subclass 165)
For people sponsored by a state or territory of Australia who have a successful business or investment career and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia.

Investor Retirement Visa (subclass 405)
A temporary visa for people aged 55 years or older who are able to make a significant long term financial investment in Australia. This visa is NOT a pathway to a permanent visa.
